Wyndell O. Banks

Wyndell O. Banks has been a practicing attorney since graduating from Howard University School of Law in 1990. Prior to coming to the Fair Housing Clinic, he served as Director of Legal Programs for the Neighborhood Legal Services Program (“NLSP”) in Washington, DC. NLSP provides free civil legal services to low income residents of Washington D.C. Mr. Banks managed NLSP’s 3 offices and 20 attorneys, in addition to staff and volunteers. Prior to joining NLSP, Mr. Banks was the founding principal of The Banks Law Firm in Washington, DC, and he also has experience with the District of Columbia Housing Authority, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the law firm of Honigman, Miller, Schwartz & Cohn in Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Banks received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. in 1987. He received his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in 1990. He also received a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies from Howard University in 1999 and a Master’s of Divinity degree from Howard University’s Divinity School in 2004.
Mr. Banks is an ordained minister and serves as the Pastor of the Hillandale Baptist Church of Adelphi, Maryland. In addition, he serves as General Counsel and a member of the Board of Directors for the Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts in Washington, DC.
Mr. Banks is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Michigan.
