Adjunct Professor, Disability Rights
Tina Smith Nelson, Esq joined the faculty of Howard University School of Law as an adjunct professor teaching disability rights law, housing litigation and housing discrimination.in 2005. She holds dual B.A. degrees in sociology and political science from the University of Pennsylvania. She also earned a J.D. degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. Ms. Nelson has been practicing law for approximately 12 years. Currently, she is a supervising attorney in the general unit of the Metropolitan Maryland Office of the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau, Inc. Her areas of practice include housing, consumer, bankruptcy, unemployment, employment, and education law. From 1998 to 2005, Ms. Nelson served as a tenant representative on the Montgomery County Maryland Landlord & Tenant Commission.
